Más de 450 atletas de todo el mundo llegarán a Villa La Angostura integrando las Selecciones Nacionales para el Mundial de Montaña

Se acerca. Se siente. Ya está a la vuelta de la esquina. El World Mountain Running Championship entró en su etapa final, a menos de dos meses de la largada. Las selecciones ya confirmaron sus listas preliminares de las delegaciones que viajarán a Villa La Angostura en noviembre, sumando un total de 475 atletas y mas de 100 técnicos y delegados para las tres distancias (Classic, Long distance y Junior), representando a 40 naciones diferentes desde todos los puntos cardinales del planeta.
Son varios los países que presentarán equipos completos en todas las distancias. Entre ellos se encuentran, además de Argentina, Italia, Francia, Canadá, Estados Unidos y República Checa. Gran Bretaña también estará presente con un gran número de atletas.
América estará representada por la selección local, Estados Unidos, Bolivia, Canadá, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, México, Paraguay, Perú, Uruguay y Venezuela.
Europa tendrá corredores de Albania, Alemania, Andorra, Austria, Bélgica, Dinamarca, Eslovenia, España, Francia, Gran Bretaña, Hungría, Malta, Mónaco, Irlanda, Italia, Polonia, Portugal, República Checa, Rumania, Suiza y Ucrania. También llegarán corredores desde Turquía; africanos de Kenia, Guinea Ecuatorial, Sierra Leona y Uganda. Y desde Oceanía, con representantes de Nueva Zelanda y Australia.
Para estar a la altura de semejante evento, Villa La Angostura sigue con los trabajos de limpieza de árboles y ramas de los senderos luego de lo que fue el temporal que azotó a toda la Patagonia. Si bien continúa nevando en la zona, tanto la Municipalidad como el Gobierno Provincial continúan preparando los caminos que se utilizarán para la carrera y también para todas las actividades turísticas de la temporada estival, lo que podría demandar unos 20 días de arduo trabajo ya que en muchos sectores aún se debe aguardar a que baje la nieve acumulada.
Se trata de una situación extraordinaria para la cual se utilizaron varias cuadrillas que permitirán que Villa La Angostura esté lista para la llegada de los atletas, algunos de los cuales lo harán con anticipación para realizar entrenamientos y reconocimiento de los senderos, como las delegaciones de Italia y Gran Bretaña.
El World Mountain Running Championship se realizará del 14 al 17 de noviembre en Villa La Angostura, provincia de Neuquén, dentro del marco de una nueva edición del Salomon K42 Adventure Marathon, que también incluye el K15, Grand K y K Kids. Habrá tres distancias mundialistas: Classic (6,5 kilómetros para los Juniors y 14 kilómetros para los Seniors) que se correrá el viernes 15 y Long Distance (42 kilómetros), que será el sábado 16.

More than 450 athletes from around the world will be at Villa La Angostura for the World

The World Mountain Running Championship entered its final stage, less than two months before the start. The teams have already confirmed their preliminary lists of delegations that will travel to Villa La Angostura in November, adding a total of 475 athletes and more than 100 technical and delegates to compete in the three distances (Classic, Long distance and Junior), representing 39 different nations from all arround the world.
Several countries will be present in all the three distances. Among them are – in addition to Argentina- Italy, France, Canada, the United States and the Czech Republic. Britain will also be present with a large number of athletes.
America will be represented by the local team, the United States, Bolivia, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, México, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.
Europe will have runners from Albania, Germany, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Slovenia, Spain, France, Great Britain, Hungary, Malta, Monaco, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Romania, Switzerland and Ukraine. Runners will also arrive from Turkey; Africans from Kenya, Equatorial Guinea, Sierra Leone and Uganda. Also, from Oceania, representatives from New Zealand and Australia.
Villa La Angostura continues with an intensive work that includes cleaning of trees and branches of the trails after the heavy storms that hit the entire Patagonia some weeks ago. Although it continues to snow in the area both the local and the Provincial Government are preparing the roads that will be used for the race and also for all the tourist activities of the summer season, which could require about 20 days of hard work.
Several crews were required for the tasks since this is an extraordinary situation and will allow Villa La Angostura to be ready for the arrival of the teams, some of whom will already arrive several days before the competition to train and recognize the circuits, like the Italian delegations and Great Britain´s.
The World Mountain Running Championship will take place from November 14 to 17 in Villa La Angostura, province of Neuquén, within a new edition of the Salomon K42 Adventure Marathon, which includes the K15, Grand K and K Kids. There will be three World Championship distances: Classic (6.5 kilometers for the Juniors and 14 kilometers for the Seniors) that will be held on Friday 15 and Long Distance (42 kilometers), that will be on Saturday 16.
